We do auditing of TPA and internal claim departments, reengineering, reviews of claim processes and procedures to identify leakage and operational and cost inefficiency opportunities.

What We Do

Auditing

Done in coordination with International Re Consultants. Audit compliance with processes, procedures and work flows. Financial reconciliations. Substantive and technical claim handling assessments. Scope includes audit on behalf of assuming reinsurers, and audits of third party administrators on behalf of insurers as well as audits of internal claim groups of insurers and reinsurers.

Expert Witness Work

44 years of experience in all product lines in the insurance industry. Have testified in depositions as an interested party witness in over 100 cases. Have also testified as an interested party witness in 20 cases in bad faith and coverage jury trials. Have also testified as an expert witness for clients in coverage and bad faith trials with successful results in lawsuits with exposures in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

Mediations

Over 44 years at handling claims in all product lines has given me an opportunity to deal with both plaintiffs counsel, defense counsel and insurance industry participants. It allows me to give full consideration to strength and weaknesses of adversarial parties and seek to find a common ground leading to conflict resolution. Extensive experience in securities fraud and class litigation as a mediation participant and was the driving force behind the IPO laddering dot com global settlement involving over 200 issuers and their underwriters resulting in a 600 million dollar class settlement of which 150 million paid by insurers.

Legal Consulting

Marketing and advisory services to law firms servicing insurance industry.

Risk Management

Advisory on insurance program and procurement. Per diem risk management service for insurance and reinsurance companies.

Third Party Administration

Process and handle all product line claims for business underwritten by managing general underwriters for fronting companies. Can also service claims on business directly underwritten by insurance and reinsurance companies. Can also handle reverse flow claims underwritten out of London, Dublin and Bermuda where insurance companies or syndicates need onshore support.

Collections

Deductible collections on fronted deductible delinquencies. Partner with D’Amato and Lynch on collection efforts. No out of pocket costs except filing fees. Contingent fee only with 1/3 of recovery to Mitrovic and D’amato and Lynch.

Legacy Liability Intermediary

Representing legacy liability buyout insurer from underwriting legacy liability selling insurer seeking to stabilize balance sheet accident year deterioration.

Alternative Capital Markets

Advisory and consultation services for hedge funds and private equity funds seeking entry into the insurance market with a start-up facility or an equity investment in an existing company. Extensive experience with private equity and hedge funds who capitalized Axcelera and Ironshore, two start-ups I have been a part of.

  • Joined Ironshore in May of 2007, responsible for launching U.S. operations. Oversaw the purchase of an admitted shell company from Fairfax and an excess surplus line shell company from White Mountain and oversaw the development of specialty product lines with requisite regulatory approvals.

Mike Mitrovic

 

Mike Mitrovic is President of Global Claims for Ironshore Inc.  A recognized insurance industry executive, his career spans nearly forty-four years with extensive experience in all lines of claims management as well as transactional liability and tax liability underwriting.

​

Prior to joining Ironshore, he served for more than 22 years with AIG; most recently in the roles of Vice President of Claims and President of AIG Worldwide Financial Lines.  He also co-founded and was President and Chief Operating Officer of Axcelera/ Global Specialty Risk in January of 2000.

 

On April 10, 2014, Penn State University Liberal Arts Alumni Society honored Mike with the 2014 Outstanding Liberal Arts Alumni in Business Award.
